What is the Mission About?

The mission is about creating a space that provides opportunities for experiential learning and growth

The idea (and I emphasize the word idea because it is in its very beginning stage) is to create a space that is like a combination of a ropes course, camp retreat center, and art gallery. Our hope is  that it will be a place that evokes a sense of the deep, the sacred, and the reverenced -- toward the goal of building Christian community and self-intimacy.  It is a place designed to empower  those who visit to draw nigh unto God.

Growing Spiritually and Experiential Learning

We ask a basic question: what must we do to grow spiritually?  What paths can we take and what practices can we integrate into our lives to Renew our minds (Romans 12),  Draw nigh unto God ( James 4:8a) and Cleanse and Purify ourselves ( James 4:8b & Isaiah 1:16-17)?

Walking trails throughout the mission property, and the metaphorical items along them, are designed to provide examples and experiential instruction about how to grow spiritually through various spiritual paths and Practices (spiritual disciplines). These disciplines are represented metaphorically by actual trails through the woods (See Map of paths). (note  path construction has begun but most are not yet built - see status of project).

The Status

1. The status of the project is that metaphorical items are being made such as a Romans 12 door that stands alone in the woods with only the sky and an arch representing the grace of God covering it. The door can be found at the intersection  of several of the spiritual paths through the woods.

2. Plans for a house (bed and breakfast kind of center) are approved.

3. Road through property has been placed, along with a sign at the entrance and a few flower beds.

4. Picnic area set up and fire pit developed (feeding 5000 picnic area - see map).

5. Pad for slab is now in place and turn-around drive at end of road is mostly complete.

6. A landscape Island has been developed between in and out driveways.
