"Draw nigh
unto God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands ye
sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded." (KJV)
Here is an
admonition that we must take the first step. God gives us
free will to choose Him, but drawing nigh unto God involves a process
of cleansing and purification. This is something we must
intentionally do. While God will help us do it, our
initiative is required. It must be a
conscious choice.
