President, CEO, and Director
Before founding Mission Renewal, Gerson spent more than 17 years working with nonprofit organizations. In Honduras, he managed children’s homes, mentored community leaders, translated for medical teams, and led medical brigades.
He studied medicine in Honduras and Cuba before earning a degree in International Relations and Diplomacy from UNITEC in Tegucigalpa. His studies included an internship with the Honduran Diplomatic Mission at the United Nations in Geneva.

Secretary and Director
Amy has more than 25 years of experience in missions and nonprofit work across four continents. Her background includes education, children’s programs, administration, and nine years of teaching in Honduras and the United States.
Treasurer, CFO, and Director
Bob brings more than four decades of financial, personnel, and organizational leadership. His experience includes service as a U.S. naval officer, comptroller, nonprofit human-resources director, and program manager.
Director
Iris is a software engineer with 25 years of experience in San Diego’s technology sector. She has also served in environmental, educational, and children’s organizations as a long-term volunteer and board member.
Director
Greg has more than 30 years of experience in nonprofit operations and management. A retired pastor, he continues to serve as a care pastor in San Diego and brings extensive community leadership experience to the board.
Mission Renewal also works with local consultants, investigators, medical professionals, and volunteers as projects require.
